Being both innovative and creative the organisation brings together over 25 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry. Ford Aerospace aims to offer its customers the latest in advanced machining capabilities.
Ford Aerospace has a diverse range of capabilities to Here you will find the diverse range of capabilities available from Ford Aerospace.
Having the ability to manage both simple and complex manufacturing requirements Ford can offer single item / batch prototyping through to programme management of parts. The company will always offer competitive pricing and maintain the highest level of delivery and quality performance to all customers. Manufacturing capabilities include presswork, conventional / CNC turning, CNC turn-mill and conventional / CNC milling (up to 4 axis).
Laminate manufacture

Ford has the capability to manufacture laminate sheet and laminate parts, please visit our Easipeel website for more information
Presswork

Capabilities in press work cover simple punching and blanking of washers, spacers and similar products through to high volume double die production of aerospace standard components. The press capabilities incorporate a combination of both hand presses and power presses allowing for the production of very small batched through to large production runs.
CNC Turning / Mill Turn

Ford Aerospace has the latest CNC Turning technology ensuring that product lead time and cost is optimised. Machines range from small Hardinge machine tools for high volume / low complexity through to Mazak 18 MSY which has the added sub spindle capability.
CNC Milling

Milling technology includes 3 and four axis with both single and twin pallet delivery. Optimisation of set up times and higher volume production is provided for by the Mazak FH 4800 while the smaller HAAS VF 4 axis machining centre allows for the quick turn around of smaller volumes.
Thread Rolling

The company has the capability to produce thread rolled components and also carry out the thread integrity testing required. Testing capabilities are located within a specially designated clean room which allows Ford Aerospace to manage the intricate assembly and testing operations in a controlled and clean environment.
Digital Data Transfer

Ford have recently invested in CATIA V5 giving the company the ability to accept and manage information digitally from customers who also have the software. This cutting edge investment enables the company to deliver best in class products and solutions, simulate and optimise machining and inspection capabilities ensuring a first class method of manufacture.
Inspection

Inspection resources include two co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM) which are located in the quality laboratory which also includes the latest hardness testing equipment.
Vital Parts

Ford Aerospace is also approved by AgustaWestland to manufacture 'flight safety' or 'vital' parts, products which if they fail in flight will cause a major incident. The companies' approval for such critical components underpins the highest levels of quality and control from which the organisation is based.
Our reputation and experience for providing a first class product to our customers is a platform which the company is very proud to have built.
Supply Chain Management

Having strong supply chain management capabilities Ford Aerospace has the ability to source and manage suppliers providing a range of specialist products and services which include;
- Raw material
- Tooling
- Castings and forgings
- Heat treatment
- Surface treatments
- Testing
- Machining
- Complete supply
Development to Production

Having invested in Catia V5 and Alphacam software Ford can work with its customers from the component design stage through to the prototype and then production phases. Working with customers at the beginning of the process allows for innovation and technological advances in manufacturing to be incorporated into the design.
