Ford Aerospace takes pride in the quality of components produced fully utilising a wide range of inspection techniques and facilities. Throughout the company the production and quality control areas contain strictly controlled and calibrated measuring equipment for use by our engineers.
During key stages throughout manufacturing, each component passes through our inspection department and again prior to delivery. Inspection equipment includes coordinate measuring machines together with the most advanced electronic and mechanical measuring tools, all operated by highly qualified engineers and inspectors.
Ford Aerospace is proud to be approved to the industry standard ISO9001:2000, AS EN 9100 rev C.

APQP Process Capability
Ford Aerospace has the capability to carry out a full APQP process when required which includes Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Process Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis and Statistical Process Control.
Co-ordinate Measuring Machines
The company has three co-ordinate measuring machines, one fully automated using the latest Mitutoyo software and two further manual machines.
An extensive array of technology is available to inspect components throughout the manufacturing process. Equipment includes;
- Two shadow graphs
- Rockwell / Superficial Rockwell hardness testing machine
- Vickers hardness testing machine
- A wide range of electronic and mechanical measuring equipment.
To support the manufacturing process of thread rolling the company also has the capability to metallurgical examine parts on site. The capability is housed within a clean room environment and can be applied to other applications as well as thread rolling.
