Precision Components

Approval for such critical components demonstrates the highest levels of quality and control required within the organisation.

Based in the UK, Ford Aerospace is part of the global SPIROL network delivering excellence throughout the world.

Offering the latest advanced machining techniques our aerospace capabilities are suitable for producing numerous parts from simple bushes to complex prismatic machined components.

All materials meet industry standards and customer specific requirements. They include a wide of non-metallic and metallic materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, steel and titanium.

With the ability to manage both simple and complex manufacturing needs, we provide everything from single item prototyping through to the programme management of parts.

Our aerospace manufacturing capabilities include CNC Milling and Turning with live tooling to enable precision manufacturing that adheres to aerospace standards and customer specifications.

Capabilities

We utilise industry standard software including CATIA to enable seamless digital manufacturing and inspection to rigorous quality standards.

CNC Milling and Turning

We have the latest CNC Turning and Mill Turn technology in-house. Thus, ensuring that product lead-time, run time and costs are successfully optimised.

Grinding

Our capabilities in this area include cylindrical, surface, centreless and double-disk grinding machines to maximise precision and finish requirements to meet the needs of our customers.

Thread Rolling

Thread rolling is a vital process in the aerospace industry and another of our key strengths. With our own metallurgical lab inhouse, all parts are meticulously tested to ensure they conform accordingly.

Precision Shims

Our experienced team support every aspect of this process. Using approved quality processes including APQP, our teams support new product development ensuring everything from tool design, control systems, manufacture and testing is considered and effectively implemented.

Presswork

This includes low, medium & high volume pressed, punched and laser cut components including heat treatment and surface finishing. Our capabilities incorporate a combination of both hand presses and power presses, to produce very small batches through to large production runs.

Inspection

We employ CMM technology and the latest Vision systems, alongside a wide range of manual inspection equipment and a significant range of qualified gauges to ensure the highest possible inspection standards are met and maintained.

FAQs

Yes. We have the capabilities in-house to manufacture tooling to meet customer product design specifications.

Yes, all of our components pass through stringent quality checks before they are dispatched to the customer. Our facilities include an in-house finishing cell which is fitted with several rumblers and a deburring station.

Ford Aerospace first entered the aerospace sector in the early 1980s when we began manufacturing high precision shims for OEMs. Since this time, we have continued to invest and develop our high precision machining capabilities.
